A resident of Winnipeg since 1959, Vern was 81 years old. He is survived by his wife Myrtha; daughter Cathy (Dave) Greenhalgh; grandson Justin; and dear family and friends. Retired sixteen years, Vern had been a long haul transport driver for many years but was forced to leave the highway due to a serious accident. He began working at the International Inn where he happily served for twenty-five years. On Tuesday, May 7, 2013 Vernon’s Funeral Service will be held 1:00 p.m. in Cross Church, 1787 Logan Avenue at Keewatin Street, with Pastor Alan Duncalfe, Officiating.
