It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Father, Opa and Big Opa. Dad passed away peacefully after a brief illness, with his family by his side, on Sunday, September 18, 2016, at the age of 88 years, just a few weeks before his 89th birthday. Left to cherish Dad’s memory are his children, Annelies (Barend), Marianne, Leo (Shannon), Arnold, Tina, Robbie and Diana; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; his sister Dit, brother Len (Laura), sister Laura (Court); numerous nieces and nephews as well as extended family and friends. Dad also leaves behind his special companion, Lisa Wierckx. You gave him a new title of “a good man”, a title that he was very proud of. Leo was predeceased by his brother Peter and Sister Rie. A Funeral Service will be held for Leo on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. in Westwood Community Church, 401 Westwood Drive, Winnipeg.
