Joy left us peacefully, on the tenth of July,2025, at the age of 95 years. She is survived by her much loved husband of 73 years, Richard(Dick) Betts, children Susan Bend (Warren), Jeffrey Betts (Wendy), cherished grandchildren Erin Bend, Elizabeth Bend (Sam), and Sophie Betts. As well, she is survived by her sister Margaret Mercury (Leon), of Victoria, BC.
Joy also cared for her community. She volunteered at the Manitoba Museum, the Children’s Hospital Book Market, Meals on Wheels, Harvest Food Bank, and was active at Sturgeon Creek United Church.
A private family celebration of Joy’s life is planned.
