JAMES P. STEVENSON 1945-2026
After a brief but intense illness, James P. Stevenson passed away on October 9, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Carol, daughter Deborah (Steve), son Allan (Desiree), grandchildren Peter (Pauline), Andrew (Camryn), Kaleb and Haley.
An avid stained-glass hobbyist, he also loved NASCAR, wood carving and frequenting Tim Hortons daily. There was rarely a Casino that did not meet with his approval. He loved to golf, but golf did not always love him back.
He had a distinguished career within the public service spending the majority of his years with the Grain Commission and Indigenous Affairs. His exemplary work earned him the prestigious Government of Canada Award of Excellence which he was very proud of. James was also never shy about exercising his civic duty and expressing his opinions and suggestions to all levels of government to help build a better Canada for all.
