Don was a great guy, and I met him in 1998 while posted in Toronto. We played lots of hockey together. Don Was a great character, both on the ice and off the ice. Don loved to watch the Canadian Hockey teams in both Olympic and World Junior competitions, and I remember it like yesterday, rolling out of bed to make my way over to his house to watch a game in the middle of the night. I am very surprised and shocked. My thoughts are with his family. Major Dennis (Moose) Maringer. A buddy for life.
