Obituaries

We were sorry to hear of Carl's passing. Although knowing him only in a professional context in Flin Flon many years ago, we saw Carl as a man deeply devoted to his profession and very caring about the well-being of the students in his charge. He was always very pleasant with a ready smile, willing to participate in those activities which make for a strong and safe community in which to live. Our condolences to his family.

I was fortunate to have been one of Mr. Smorang's Grade 6 students at Ross Lake School in Flin Flon. He was a great teacher and one I will never forget. My sympathies to his family.

Our condolences to all of Carl's family on his sudden passing. I lived down the street from Carl in our growing up years on The Rock. Always remember him as a very kind & caring person. George Wolchuk, Saanichton, BC.

Mr. Smorang was an incredible neighbor and person. A kind hearted man with a gentle voice and friendly smile. He always made time to talk to myself and my family over the years. He was always the kind of person I felt privileged to know. My Dad always said that Carl was a special man, and a one in a million next door neighbor. My thoughts are with Fern and Clay at this most difficult time. He will be missed dearly.
