BARBARA RUTH BELLINGHAM (NEE FAULKNER)
1929 – 2024
Never be sad at my passing, my life was a true blessing. At 10 years, World War II came, dad in the Air Force, the family sent to PEI, nine months later a transfer to St. Jean, Quebec till war ended. With training planes flying formation, my friends there & one in Montreal, 1945 brought us back to Winnipeg and graduation from Kelvin High School. Then Business College, employment at Great West Life accounting for 4 1/2 years – super job & lifelong friends. Flying was my ambition but along came Jack. We met in 1947, married in 1951 to 53 1/2 years of happiness. Jack’s work with C.G.E. sent us to Dauphin, Brandon & back to Winnipeg. Home at 222 Linwood St., St. James, a happy place for family for 37 years. Dana was born in 1952, Wayne in 1954, & Jeff in 1956. We had great summers at Clear Lake, Riding Mountain first at my parent’s cottage, then our home in Onanole, along with cats, dogs & canaries. Golf, boating, swimming & hiking, were fun times for family & friends. St. James Y.M.C.A became a family focus – swim meets, dinners, many programs dedicated to leadership & volunteering, with motto ‘spirit, mind & body’ served our family well. Dana, Wayne & Jeff excelled in education & sports. Next came their employment at City of Winnipeg – Dana with recreation, Wayne & Jeff with Winnipeg Police Department. Jack & I were proud of their achievements & dedication to success. Next came marriages, grandchildren & great grandchildren, ‘frosting on our cake’.

Jack and I moved to Gimli in 1992, closer to family & friends. Tragedy came in 1999, our beloved Wayne passed away, then my Jack in 2004, & Jeff in 2022. A struggle to meet each day, then I looked back to a cherished family and friends who knew three great guys.
I moved to St. Anne’s, 2005, then onto senior residences in Winnipeg 2010.
My sincere love & thanks to my super family, neighbours, colleagues in St. James, nieces (extended families), & lifelong friends (Marg). True blessings of a happy life.
Cremation to take place and no funeral at my request.
