Sylvia Jewell (Tutkaluk)
March 12, 1947 – December 24, 2025

It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Sylvia Jewell (Tutkaluk), who passed away peacefully with her family by her side on December 24, 2025 following a brief illness, at the age of 78.

Sylvia is lovingly survived by her sons, Raymond (Leslie) and Keith (Lynell), and her daughter, Susan (Ted). She was a devoted and proud Baba to Robert, Carley, Ricki-Lee (Alex), and Brett, and a cherished Great Baba to her beautiful granddaughter Blake who had brought her so much joy since her birth.

She was predeceased by her parents, Rose and Peter, and her brothers, Stanley and Ronnie.

Sylvia was born on March 12, 1947, in Shoal Lake, Manitoba. She later moved to Winnipeg, where she raised her family. Once her children were grown, Sylvia spent many years working at various Canada Post outlets throughout the city.

Family was at the heart of Sylvia’s life. She treasured time spent with her grandchildren and found great joy in gardening and cooking, passions she shared generously with those she loved.

The family extends their sincere gratitude to the compassionate staff at the Health Sciences Centre for the care and kindness shown to Sylvia during her stay.

In keeping with Sylvia’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A service to celebrate her life will be held on January 12 at 11:00 a.m. at Wojcik’s Funeral Chapel, 2157 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg. A private family inurnment will be at Assumptions Cemetery, 3990 Portage Ave, Winnipeg.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sylvia’s memory to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or to a charity of one’s choice.
