ROBERT JOHN EDMONDS
Robert John Edmonds, of Winnipeg, Manitoba, passed away on April 14, 2016, at 85 years of age. Bob was born July 5, 1930, to the late Robert Sr. and Lillian Edmonds. He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Gloria and sister Marjorie Russell. Bob is survived by his children, Deborah (Ian) Wood and sons, Robert and Noel (Fearn), as well as his younger sister Pat (Ralph) Laube and beloved cat Jeremiah. Bob worked a home-based auto repair business, Shadow’s Auto, though his life-long passion was auto racing. Bob Shadow Edmonds #44 was a legendary figure in circle track car racing, both locally and in the U.S. He celebrated over 50 years of active racing, dating back to Whittier Park and Brooklands Speedways. Loved by many, our family would like to thank his Collegiate Street neighbours, Larry and Doug, for keeping a watchful eye and looking after his needs in his later years. Few were aware of Bob’s love for his animals and his support of animal rescue. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Richmond Animal Protection Society, 12071 – #5 Road, Richmond, BC V7A 4E9.
