Mildred “Jean” Poitras

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Mildred “Jean” Poitras on December 10, 2025 at the age of 90 years old. Born January 24, 1935. Better known as Jean to everyone that knew and loved her.

She was pre-deceased by her Husband Arthur Poitras, Son Carl Mingo & Daughter Carolyn (Carol) Karst. Survived by her Daughter Paulette (Polly) Hamilton & Son Damyen Poitras. She leaves behind her Granddaughter Larissa Poitras, (Josh Anderson) and Great Grandchild Lily Anderson and many other Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren & family members whom she loved with all of her heart.

Jean worked at Wawanesa for a number of years in the cafeteria as the Lunch Room Operator, she also volunteered in the coffee shop at her building for years after retirement from Wawanesa.

Jean was known for her drapery, sewing, amazing cooking, baking and her unconditional love and kindness, the list goes on. Jean enjoyed watching Young & The Restless, Bold & the Beautiful, Let’s Make a Deal as well as Chicago Fire, Med and P.D.

She leaves behind cherished memories with her Great Grandchild Lily as she would look after Lily a lot during the Summer, as well as her Granddaughter Larissa and Son Damyen.

Jean lived a colourful life brimming with love, kindness & joy. Her presence touched countless hearts and will be profoundly missed. Her spirit will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will forever be missed and never forgotten.
