Maurice Beaubien

April 2, 1922 - January 31, 2016

MAURICE (MOE) MELVILLE BEAUBIEN
Peacefully, on Sunday, January 31, 2016, just two months shy of his 95th birthday, Maurice Beaubien (Moe) passed away after a short illness.   Remaining to cherish Moe’s memory are numerous nieces; nephews; and their children. He was predeceased by his parents, Eugene and Eugenie; as well as siblings, Raymond, Charmaine, Yvonne, Lucille and Joffre.   Moe was a person who could bring an instant smile and laugh from close friends, family and strangers alike. He was a fixture in his adopted community of Beausejour, Manitoba, where you would find Moe driving the streets in his truck held together with bailing twine (and later, an electric scooter), or holding daily court at Vickie’s Snack Bar. He was one of a kind, and self-taught in almost everything he did – playing the piano by ear beautifully, construction and carpentry and in offbeat jobs like vacuum cleaner salesman or piano tuning.   “Uncle Moe”, as he was known to his grandnephews and grandnieces, was a constant and much-beloved presence in their lives. He took every opportunity to attend a countless number of their sport events, plays and music recitals. Uncle Moe took a great deal of pride extolling their accomplishments to anyone who’d listen.   A Celebration of Moe’s Life will be held on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Beau-Head Seniors Centre, 645 Park Avenue, Beausejour, Manitoba. Family and friends are welcome to exchange their favourite stories and memories with Moe.   Wojcik’s Funeral Chapels & Crematorium (Serving Beausejour), 204.268.2263 or 1.866.424.6271 www.wojciksfuneralchapel.com
“Moe’s joyful laugh, kind-heartedness and infections joy will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.”
