Marilyn Jane Klapprat

November 25, 1945 - November 4, 2025

Marilyn Jane Klapprat

Peacefully, with family by her side, Marilyn Jane Klapprat passed away on November 4, 2025 at East Gate Lodge in Beausejour, MB. Marilyn was predeceased by her parents, Reinhold and Amanda Klapprat, her brother Albert, her sister Norma Taylor, and her brothers Andrew (Alexandra) and Ray (Armande).  Marilyn leaves to mourn her nieces, nephews and friends.

Marilyn was born on November 25, 1945 in Selkirk MB.  She grew up on the family farm before moving to Beausejour at the age of 11, where she resided for the rest of her life. Marilyn was a polio survivor who bravely faced each day with strength and determination.   She created her own “job” where she delivered mail for the local businesses.  This job afforded Marilyn the opportunity for one of her greatest joys in life, meeting new friends.  Marilyn also volunteered for Zion Lutheran Church, folding bulletins, for many, many years.  Marilyn was a dedicated and active member of her church.

Marilyn made special friends, such as Randee and Kris, who provided her with support and companionship throughout the years.  Her family wants to thank this family for making Marilyn a part of theirs.

The family would like to thank the caregivers from East Gate Lodge.  Over these last few days, we’ve had the pleasure of hearing and seeing how genuinely people loved and cared for Marilyn.  Thank you all for the exceptional care you provided along with the kindness and respect you showed Marilyn through her remaining years.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, November 10th at 3 PM at Zion Lutheran Church, Beausejour, Manitoba with Paster Terry Gudmundson officiating.  Interment will be in the Church Cemetery.  Family and Friends may pay their respects at the church one hour prior to service.

If friends so desire, a memorial donation to the Post-Polio Network (Manitoba) Inc., Khartoum Shriners or East Gate Lodge in Marilyn’s honour would be appreciated.

As Marilyn was fond of saying….”see you later, alligator”.
