KEMAL (KEMO) HSPAHIC

In memory of Kemal (Kemo) Hspahic who passed away peacefully on February 25, 2026, at Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 83.

Kemo was born in the city of Sarajevo, Bosnia (former Yugoslavia) on June 25,1942. He immigrated to Canada in the mid 1960’s. He was a journeyman and machinist who worked up north in Churchill and Gillam and worked for several years of his life at CN Transcona yards in Winnipeg.

Kemo loved his family and community of friends. He was a kind man who trusted in God in his own way, but he was not devout in the conventional sense. He enjoyed soccer, tennis and cross-country skiing. He was always helping others. When he was younger, he loved taking his family camping, fishing and to the parks, being outdoors in nature was his place.

He is predeceased by his parents Safija & Ibrahim Huseinspahic, his brother Mustafa, sister Vahida and niece Zlata. Kemal is survived by his sisters Nura & Beba, children Kennan (Kiera) Melissa (Andrew), Troy (Jenn), former wife Elaine Harder (Ed), grandchildren Jasmine, Damien, Destiny, Aiyana, Isara, Victoria & Jasper.
