JOAN KATHLEEN FLORENCE COLLOT(nee FARMER)
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Joan, on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at the age of 73 years. Left to cherish Joan’s memory are her daughters Kim Zebiere, and Leah Harnarine; grandchildren Kyle Zebiere, Natalie Premsukh (Lenny), Ryan Harnarine (Leiza); great-grandchildren Alisha and Avi; brother Don Farmer (Brenda); sister in law Beverly Farmer; niece Heather Madison (Brian); Logan and Haley. Joan is joining her husband Lucien Collot; her parents Jack and Mary Farmer; and her sister Joyce Owens. Joan was born in Virden, Manitoba. She came to Winnipeg at the age of 16 and began her career at MTS where she retired in Management after 35 years. In her retirement Joan and Lou enjoyed travailing to various parts of Canada and the USA but they especially loved Lake of the Woods. Joan was very artistic, she began painting, needle point and doll making. She took great care in every task she began. Joan also took pleasure in creating an amazing garden in her yard. Her dogs Lady Suzie, little Lady Buffie, Princess Pebbles and Prince Nipper brought her much joy. In compliance with Joan’s wishes a Graveside Service will be held at the Virden Cemetery in Virden Manitoba. Joan’s family would like to thank all the staff at the Victoria General Hospital for the kind and gentle care they gave Joan in her final days. Special thanks to friends Milt and Pat, Winnie, Norbert and Jeannette, and Suzanne and Brad for making Joan’s days happy and filed with love. In lieu of flowers, family and friends are welcome to donate to Cancer Care Manitoba 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 in her honour. “We will cherish your fond memories forever until we meet again in Heaven.
Joan would like to be remembered with a prayer:
Angel of God, my guardian dear,
To whom God’s love commits me here.
Ever this day be at my side
To love and guard, to rule and guide.
Amen”
