Jeanette Noakes
On Friday, February 12, 2016, at the age of 99 years, Jeanette Noakes passed away peacefully with friends by her side.Jeanette will be lovingly remembered by her brother-in-law, Ed Noakes; niece Linda (Rick) Kullman; nephews, Nigel (Angela), Bill (Barbara) and Peter Armstrong; and Della (Jim) Beattie, along with many other good friends in both England and Canada. She was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Gertrude Gardiner; brother Raymond Gardiner; sister and brother-in-law, Catherine and Norman Armstrong and her daughter, Dianne Brandson.
On December 17, 1916, Jeanette was born in Carlisle, England and came to Canada as a war bride in 1945. She made many friends in the Manitoba motorcycling community and working at Childs Restaurant, the Princeton Café and in the cafeterias at the Winnipeg General Hospital, Victoria Hospital and University College. Jeanette loved animals, dancing and was an avid bowler, playing regularly in a league until last year.
