JADWIGA “HEDWIG” MURANYI

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jadwiga “Hedwig” Muranyi on March 20th, at Donwood Manor in Winnipeg. She was 85 years old.

Jadwiga was born on April 30th, 1940 in Bilinka Mala, Poland. She migrated to Winnipeg in 1965 where she met her husband Laszlo and raised their family together. Jadwiga was a hard worker who spent most of her working life in the food service industry. She was a woman of faith who took great joy in her family, especially her precious grandchildren.

Jadwiga is survived by her sons Gregory (Leslie) and Andrew (Heather) and her beloved grandchildren Genevieve, Gabriel, Analia and Rosalie. Jadwiga was predeceased by her husband of 53 years this year, Laszlo Muranyi. She is also predeceased by her parents Jan and Paulina Liwacz. She also had six sisters and one brother.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to Colin and all the neighbours for their support and kindness. We also would like to extend our deepest thanks to all the staff at Donwood Manor for all their compassionate patient care.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 16th at 11 am at Holy Redeemer Church.
