Henri Anobis

HENRI EMANNUEL PIERRE ANOBISAugust 1, 1957 – May 28, 2016
 
   Peacefully with family by his side, Henri passed away unexpectedly at St. Boniface Hospital.   Left to cherish Henri’s memory are his spouse Johanna (Jansen) of 30 years of marriage. His memory will live on in his children and grandchildren; Keila (daughter Hazel) Troy, Devon, and Paige. His former partner Catherine Goodman and her children Shaun (daughter Adina) Shannon (son Brayden). He will be missed dearly by his brother Rene (Melinda); sisters Denise (Frank) and Andree; nephews and nieces Maria, Michael, Ian, Johnny, Peter, Bobby, Billy, Sonja, Carla, Renee, Helen and Christopher. Henri also leaves to mourn Johanna’s family; Florence Marcino (George), Darin Jansen, Brock Jansen (Kim), Nicole Jansen, Pauline Koller (George) and Genene Scholdice (Craig); nephews David and Jaylan; nieces Ashley and Alyscia and numerous relatives overseas and in Canada. He was predeceased by his parents; Henry Anobis and Margaret (Deutch) Anobis; sister Helen Winsor (Jack Winsor) and niece Marjory Winsor.    Henri was born in St. John’s, Newfoundland. At the age of 17, he enlisted with the Royal Canadian Regiment, where he proudly served his country for 22 years. During this time, Henri had earned numerous medals for his tours overseas, until his honorable retirement in 1996.   Many friendships were made during Henri’s lifetime, whether it was on road trips to South America or riding his prized Harley. But especially his Band of Brothers throughout his military career.   As per Henri’s wishes, a private celebration of life was held on Friday, June 3, 2016.
