GEORGE ROTHJanuary 23, 1926 – January 12, 2016 Peacefully and with his family by his side, George passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at Grace Hospital, at the age of 89 years. Remaining to forever cherish George’s memory are his wife, Eileen; son Doug (Di); daughter Debi (Ken); grandchildren, Amanda (Doug), Tara (Mark) and Geoff (Leah); great-grandchildren, Joshua, Alexcis, Geoffrey and Emmett; and sisters, Adele and Gertie. He was predeceased by his parents, Hilda and Emanuel; brothers, Ham, Art and Eb; as well as sister Hedy. George loved hearing and telling jokes. He was most proud of having his two grandsons in the police service and showed a picture of the three of them together to whoever would show interest. George’s favorite restaurant was Silver Heights, where he always enjoyed the ribs. His career was in gas fitting and he had his own business for over 25 years. George and Eileen spent many happy summers at their trailer at Winnipeg Beach. On Thursday, January 21, 2016 George’s Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. in Lutheran Church of the Cross, 560 Arlington Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Entombment will follow in Queen of Heaven Mausoleum in Assumption Roman Catholic Cemetery, 3990 Portage Avenue.
