Elizabeth - I was so sorry to hear of Pani Genia's passing. She was such a sweet lady. Being my mom's next door neighbour at Polish Manor, I use to run into her frequently. We would chat in the hallway and she always talked about you and your family. She really missed being able to come our for her usual visits, but really enjoyed your phone conversations. I was always happy to pick things up for her whenever she asked, though she never wanted to "bother me", but it was never a bother. I really appreciated her checking up on my mother. Actually, it seems they checked up on each other. My mother was surprised when there was a knock on her door and your mom was leaving for the hospital, which would have been for the last time. Your mom wanted to say goodbye, because she didn't think she'd be back. We had hoped that wouldn't be true, but perhaps she knew that this time it was different. I'm glad they were able to have their last goodbye. I'm sure your mom will live with you through the memories you had over the years. My deepest sympathy.

My sincere condolences to the family on the passing of such a lovely, gracious lady. I had the honour and pleasure to conduct a lengthy interview with your Mom, about her pre-war, wartime, and post-war experiences, as well as to include her story in an exhibit at the Ogniwo Polish Museum. The latter was featured in the local newspaper, and your Mother was prominently mentioned in that article. She was over the moon about that, and it was great to see the pleasure it gave her. I shall miss her. Sincerely, Krystyna Szypowska, Polish Exiles of WW2 Inc. (www.polishexilesofww2.org)

To Family: Pani Gienia was a wonderful and kind person with a soft smile on her face. She was always ready to help her fellow tenants in Polish Manor and despite her age actively participated in activities of Polish Canadian Federation Branch 7 in Winnipeg. She loved her family and was always looking forward to her yearly trip south to spend time with them. We will miss her. Sincere condolences, Maria Szymanska President of Polish Canadian Women's Federation Branch 7 in Winnipeg

Elizabeth, on behalf of my mom and my family please accept our condolences for the loss of your mother. I regret that I did not take the time to meet with your mom before she passed and talk to her about the history of the Franczyk family, especially through the tumultuous years of World War II. Whenever I would visit my aunt Mary at the Polish Manor and saw your mom she would often invite me to come and listen to her talk about the Franczyk’s! I can still hear her say “Chris I have so much to tell you about your dad and the family history.” I may not get to see you due to these crazy times but I trust that you will experience God’s grace and peace as you go through this grievous time of loss.

Elizabeth, I never met you. I was not around your mom, Genevieve much, but what I remember about her was her beauty. When she smiled I do remember staring at her eyes and her smile that always showed her love. I do remember always asking her why I don’t have green eyes like her. I am thankful that you asked Thommy to have Dad ( Chester) speak with Genevieve on FaceTime before her passing. Blessings of light to you Elizabeth and your children.
