Aunt Doreen was a big part of our lives as children in Vassar and I think my first bike was a hand me down from her. I remember the weekends spent at the house on Talbot when I was in High School in St Francis Xavier and later going to visit her in St Boniface and seeing her scooter at the door and being quite impressed that she would use it to travel to the hospital for her treatments. Aunt Doreen always had a great sense of humour and the last time I spoke to her we had some good laughs about her experiences with the roommates she got stuck with. 'Say not, in grief, that your mother has gone, but always remain thankful that she was yours'.

Please accept our most sincere and heartfelt sympathy, in the passing of your mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, friend. Her memory will assuredly live on with her family and friends, as with us. Our fondest memories are of family gatherings, typically on a Sunday, when food and laughter seemed the critical elements. A smile comes to mind on the occasion of once starting out to Vassar, with Aunty Doreen, Aunty Cora and the children. Very nearly forgetting Marlowe, as he insisted on riding his bike up and down the street, thank goodness for a cousin in the car, who recognized one missing child. Another good laugh was enjoyed by all and Marlowe joined the trip with the rest of us. Aunty Doreen will be missed and her memory treasured by all who knew her. Be comforted in the knowledge that she has earned her rest and eternal comfort, with our Saviour. Submitted with love, fond memories and blessings.
