DAVID JOHN REYNOLDS
On Friday, May 27, 2016 David John Reynolds passed away at the age of 75 years. David leaves to mourn his passing his grandson Kevin Reynolds; granddaughter Lindsay and Kevin Cabral and their children Talon, Olivia, Aubrie, Paige; brothers, Victor (Lorraine) of Portage la Prairie and Don (Pauline) of Grunthal, MB as well as nieces and nephews. On March 22, 1941 David was born in Portage la Prairie. His father was overseas serving in World War II so the first few years of his life, David had his mother all to himself. He attended school in Portage where he excelled at football, hockey and became one of the top 10 air cadets in all of Canada earning his pilot’s license and developing a passion for flying. David met and married the love of his life Patricia Reynolds and soon was blessed with twins, Keith and Kathleen. He worked at the Manitoba Pool Elevator where he won numerous awards for excelling as a General Manager. The family lived in various communities around the province, his longest stay was his last placement at Deacon’s Corner. After retirement Dave and Pat moved to Winnipeg. The family enjoyed travelling, camping, and spending time together. David refereed hockey and became an avid golfer, a longtime member of the St. Boniface Golf Club. The last years of David’s life were not kind, as he was predeceased by both of his children, his wife, parents, and parent in laws. The last six months of his life David was totally dependent on his brother Don (Pauline) as he fought cancer. A private family Graveside Service will be held Hillside Cemetery in Portage June 11, 2016. The family would like to thank the Victoria General Hospital staff for their patience, expertise and kindness to David his last few weeks. Special thanks as well to Sandie Kliewer-Morin of WRHA Geriatric Program and Jere Tetrault and the staff of Smart Cleaners your assistance was invaluable and was a highlight of David’s last few weeks in his home.
