CATHERINE “CATHY” ANN CHEHOWY

Catherine “Cathy” Ann Chehowy, born on December 24, 1963, passed away on March 13, 2025.

She was a loving mother and proud Grannie who will be forever missed by her daughter, Amanda; her son, Alex, and his family—Nicoletta and Charlie; and her son, Ben, along with Jessica, Grayson, Everett, and Saylor. She will also be deeply missed by her loving parents, Nestor and Mary Chehowy, and her twin sister, Susan (Jake) deBoer.

Known for her kindness, Cathy was a considerate friend who would give anything she could—except her famous cookie recipe. Whether you needed a helping hand or a partner in mischief, she was always first to answer the call.

She had a passion for knitting, and no matter where she was—cheering on her boys at a basketball game or relaxing at home—her knitting needles were always in hand, creating something warm and full of love. Above all, Cathy lived her life for her family. Her children and grandchildren were her heart, and her love for them was endless.

Cathy’s generosity, humour, and loving spirit will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

A private service will be held at a later date. The family would like to extend their gratitude to staff at the Health Sciences Centre and her dear friend Michelle for their care and compassion in her final weeks.
