Carol Ann (Gower) Tosh
It is with the utmost sadness that we announce the peaceful passing with family by her side of Carol Tosh our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother on Friday, November 28, 2025 at Grace Hospital.
Carol will be so very missed by Wayne, her loving husband of 62 years, their four children Sandy, Tanus (Greg), Micki (Todd), Shawn, nine grand-children, and three great-grandchildren along with numerous friends and family.
Carol was born on Friday, August 22, 1941 the oldest of Rosabel and Norman Gower’s three girls. She grew up on a farm in the Kelwood area moving to McCreary on her own to complete high school. It was there where she initially met Wayne in 1958; the two began dating in the summer of 1962 and married July 20, 1963 during a full eclipse of the sun. In the time that followed, they lived in various rural Manitoba towns as Wayne was often transferred with his job in the bank. They settled in Pine Falls for sixteen years, where they raised their four children before moving to Miniota for a brief time and then into Winnipeg to be closer to family.
Carol liked music around her; enjoyed her word search puzzles and playing solitaire after everyone had gone to bed; found pleasure in knitting for loved ones and dollies for children in hospital; looked forward to her TOPS meetings and the friends she made there; and especially cherished her time spent with family. She will be remembered as a true nurturer whether as a nurse or as a mom, a grandma, a great-grandma. She cared for everyone who crossed her path, family or friend. She was known for her cooking and baking, knitting, watching her grandchildren play sports, and especially cuddling babies. Family was everything to her. Her warmth, kindness, and her indomitable spirit are an example to us all. She leaves a legacy of love that will forever live on in the lives of those she touched.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses, and healthcare staff of Deer Lodge 2 West and Grace Hospital Emergency and 5 North for their compassionate care.
As per Carol’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service has been held. Instead of flowers, please consider a donation to honour Carol’s memory by giving to Celiac Canada – @celiac.ca.
