I had the honour of knowing Brian when we were on our tank troop leader's course in the 1980's. He was a six years older than me which, was a big gap at that age. He was like a big brother to us. I have thought of him often throughout the years. He was a person that you remembered even if you knew him for a short time. He taught me to always let the people in your life shine by giving them the chance to demonstrate their excellence and to let them feel good about it even if it was not splitting the atom. I never forgot that and it served me well. He also taught me not to trust some curly haired 1970's porn mustachioed dude set up your sleeping spot in the crew tent because, he might just set you up in a tank rut while telling you that you had the "best spot" and then smile about for the next 24 hours after you figured out that he had pulled one over on you. You got me that time Brian. LOL I still smile when I think of that. LOL Rest in peace Brian. I will always remember you and that shit eating grin of yours. I think you are teaching me another life lesson with your passing. Cheers brother. John Malevich
