BRADLEY JAMES DAURIE
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Bradley James Daurie on Friday, March 13, 2026. He was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan on May 27, 1967.
Brad leaves behind his mother Barbara Daurie; brother Brent and Amanda Daurie and niece Shayla; sister Sarah and Jaret Klymchuk and nephews Jack, Harry and niece Ava. Many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Predeceased by his father Robert Douglas Daurie April 23, 2015.
Bradley displayed a vivid imagination at a young age. Once he began talking, he never stopped amusing himself with an imaginary friend. He was always seeking adventure. His uncle Jack took him on several fishing trips, which grew to a life-long passion throughout his life. Brad loved the outdoors, once trying to save an injured bird he kept in a shoe box. He became a collector of things: leaves, rocks, driftwood, marble and finally settling on a stamp collection. Late his collections were hockey cards.
Moving to Winnipeg in the summer of 1972, where he enjoyed many Children’s Theatre plays at the Winnipeg Art Gallery, and attending Sunday school. Bradley started playing hockey that winter. At ten years of age he played with the allstar team called the Winnipeg Warriors, triple AAA Monarchs, and Fort Garry Twins. At fourteen he had knee surgery to remove a benign tumor, sadly he had to give up his hockey.
Family joined St. Boniface Golf Club in 1979, where Bradley enjoyed his lessons with Jimmy Roy, later he caddied for him in several tournaments. We joined Southwood Golf Course in 1981. At seventeen while playing with friends he collapsed on the fairway, and was rushed to Victoria Hospital, where he had his first of many future hip surgeries. There he was diagnosed with Legg-Perthes Disease. Brad suffered many health issues over the years never complaining about his ongoing medical problems.
He enjoyed going to the Jets games, fishing with his brother and friends on the Red River and at Lockport. Brad was incredibly funny at home doing impressions of people; a teacher commented he should take up acting! After high school, at Fort Richmond Collegiate, he took a summer job at Lake Louise where he met the famous painter Eugene Hugh Montgomery who painted an oil portrait of him. At twenty-one he moved to Toronto taking a security course and began working at Scotia McLeod, becoming a trader in the stockmarket. Seven years later he ventured to Vancouver, then Calgary where he met Elaine Pelletier moving to her home in Saskatchewan. Brad returned back to Winnipeg in 2004 and entered rehab. Elaine moved here the following summer, she was an angel in disguise.
Later they took three camping trips to the east shore of Cedar lake. On July 7, 2007 Brad was awarded two Master Angler Certificates having caught two Walleyes at 73.03 cm and 71 cm The following year he received another certificate having caught a 107.95cm Northern Pike. Sadly, Elaine passed away 0n June 16, 2021.
Throughout his life, Brad never lost his true spirit. He was a social being, his kindness toward family and friends never wavered. Brad was always polite and couteous, treating all peolpe equally. Brad had a wonderful sense of humor, a brilliant mind, and a beautiful soul. Brad will forever live in our hearts and those that knew him.
Many thanks to family and friends for your condolences.
There will be a family gathering in Calgary on May 2-3, 2026. Interment to follow at St. Vital Cemetery at a later date.
