FRED ALMER LANGAN
The family of Fred Langan are sad to announce his passing on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at the age of 92 years. Left to mourn Fred are his son Patrick; brother Wilfred (aka Weab) (Cathy) and sisters Clara, Zena, Irene and Jane (Chris) as well as a numerous nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his parents Dave and Emily (nee Paul); brothers Albert, Archie, and David; sisters Olive and Lewina. Born in Boggy Creek, Manitoba, Fred grew-up in the San Clara area. He proudly served our country as a Private with the PPCLI during World War II. Upon returning home from the war, he worked as a lumberjack, followed by many years in the flour mill industry. Fred was known to be a jovial, kind and generous man. A celebration of Fred’s life will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. in Wojcik’s Funeral Chapel,1020 Main Street at Manitoba Avenue. A private family Interment will take place at a later date in the Military section of Brookside Cemetery. Our family would like to thank the medical and support staff at the Deer Lodge Centre, they took wonderful care of our brother. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Fred’s memory to the Deer Lodge Centre Foundation, 2109 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3J 0L3.
