CATHERINE (CATHY) SUSAN JOHNSON
(nee REWCASTLE)
July 23, 1957 — January 21, 2025

It is with great sadness that the family of Cathy Johnson (nee Rewcastle) announces her peaceful passing on January 21, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer. Cathy is survived by her husband Brad, daughter Alberta, son Cole, sisters Judy and Patti Rewcastle, as well as nieces, nephews, in-laws and their families.

Cathy was always connected to the environment from an early age and made its protection a career. She served in the Manitoba Government for about 41 years and recently retired as the Secretary to the Clean Environment Commission after 18 years.

Cathy was most content when she could hear the lap of waves on the shore at dusk, the sound of a birdsong at dawn, the rush of a river over the Canadian shield, or the cry of loons courting in spring.

There will be no funeral service. A celebration of life will take place at a later date – more information will be posted to the Wojcik’s Tribute link below.

Cathy’s extended family would like to thank CancerCare Manitoba and the Riverview Health Centre teams for their compassionate and professional care.
